“There is even one more level in him” Roma legend claims Liverpool can win CL because of his ex-teammate

AS Roma legend Francesco Totti feels that Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is already “one of the best players in the world” but boasts of the potential to even become better.

Salah left Roma for Liverpool in 2017 and has been in menacing form since the start of the season. The Egyptian has already bagged 30 goals in all competitions for the Reds and remains hungry for more.

Totti, who played alongside Salah at Roma, believes that the 25-year-old, who was the driving force in Egypt’s qualification for the World Cup this summer, still has room for improvement.

“The level he is playing at, at the moment, he is one of the best players in the world – and I think he can and will get even better,” Totti told Liverpoolfc.com.

“I know him well. He is a good friend and wants to keep improving, to keep getting better as a player.

“He does all the right things, he trains hard, he works hard, he listens to the coaches – that’s why, as good as he is playing at the moment, I think maybe there is even one more level in him.”

Salah’s blistering form this season has helped Liverpool stay in the mix for a top-four finish in the Premier League. Following the 5-0 mauling of FC Porto in the first leg of Champions League round of 16 last week, the Merseysiders have virtually guaranteed their place in the quarterfinals of the coveted competition.

Totti believes that Salah could be the man to inspire Jurgen Klopp’s Reds to a 6th Champions League crown.

“He is one of those players who can make the difference in the big games,” the Italian added.

“That is why Liverpool cannot be ruled out of winning the Champions League. There are more complete teams in the competition – but when you have a player like him, you start to believe anything is possible.”

Indeed, Salah has made a telling impact in his very first season at Anfield. The jet-heeled Egyptian has already scored 30 goals in just 36 appearances and alongside the likes of Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, he continues to be a force to reckon with.

A player earlier deemed to be surplus to requirements at Chelsea, Salah has been Liverpool’s headline act this campaign and for all right reasons.
