Liverpool team news for Bournemouth clash – Key trio ruled out but Firmino could be ready

Liverpool face Bournemouth in their upcoming Premier League clash this weekend and it will be a solid chance for the Reds to close in on second-placed Manchester United. We come into this game on the back of five consecutive victories – including two beautiful wins against Manchester City in the Champions League, and the team should be feeling confident enough to snatch all 3 points.

As far as team news is concerned, Jurgen Klopp gave a clear view of what to expect, via Liverpool’s official website. Our gaffer has confirmed that Ragnar Klavan and Nathaniel Clyne will miss this clash. Both of them are injured and are expected to sit this one out to avoid worsening their injuries.

However, Roberto Firmino is gunning for a starting spot. The player experienced some pain in his neck earlier this week but he is understood to have recovered. Having him back will certainly prove to be a boost for us since it will provide us with an interesting dimension in the attack.

Throwing further light on the subject, Klopp said:

“It’s quite difficult at the moment, we must wait pretty much [every] five minutes for some news. At the moment it looks OK.

“Unfortunately, I think, not 100 per cent sure, that Raggy felt a little bit [something] muscle-wise. And Clyney [is], probably, out. [He felt an injury] in training the day after the game.

“Bobby had a little [issue] with his neck but should be OK, I think.”

When asked about an update regarding the fitness of midfielder Emre Can, the manager said:

“Not really. We have contact with him, of course, it feels good, but it will take still a little bit of time.”

In addition to that, Jordan Henderson is expected to return to the starting XI against Bournemouth but Joel Matip and Adam Lallana remain sidelined due to respective injuries.

There are no fresh injury concerns for Klopp and that will come as good news for us since we need to have our key players fit and ready for the colossal encounter against AS Roma.

However, for now, Liverpool must focus on the game at hand. Bournemouth have been in decent form this season and they will be looking to cause a nasty upset at Anfield.

Nevertheless, if we stick to the basics and put up a good show, a positive result should be on the cards.
