Liverpool receive golden opportunity to sign on-loan Real Madrid star

As per a report from Spanish outlet El Gol Digital (h/t the Express), Liverpool have a golden opportunity to sign Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez. The player is currently serving a two-year loan spell with German giants Bayern Munich but the report claims

The report has also gone on to claim that Liverpool are interested in securing a move for him this summer. Since the player is seemingly eyeing an exit from the Allianz Arena, it would make sense for us to make an attempt to sign him in the upcoming transfer window.

Rodriguez has never failed to impress. Be it with Real Madrid or Bayern Munich, the 26-year-old attacker has been a powerful player and is capable of wreaking havoc on the opposition. The report has also stated that Liverpool are viewing him as the ideal replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who joined Barcelona earlier in January.

As is the case with all Real Madrid players, Rodriguez will not come cheap. That said, there are other areas that require strengthening and it remains to be seen if our gaffer splurges the cash to boost an area that is already quite strong.

After all, the likes of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah have been one of the best players in the Premier League this season. Throw in Roberto Firmino and you have a lethal front trio that can trouble the toughest of opponents.

On the flipside, if the move does go through, it must be noted that Klopp has been on the lookout for an attacking midfielder for a long time now and Rodriguez could turn the Liverpool attack into a truly formidable unit next season.
