Just when things are going great for Liverpool, something new has to come up to derail our joy. With a date set for a scintillating Champions League final against Real Madrid, one might think we don’t have much to worry about.

However, if a report from Liverpool Echo is to be believed, Sadio Mane seems to have picked up an injury. The report claims that he is a doubt for the upcoming Premier League clash against Brighton and that the player has missed a number of training sessions after the loss to Chelsea.

In fact, the report claims that he sustained the injury in that fateful game. If the injury worsens from this point, it remains to be seen if he will recover in time to play in the Champions League final.

Mane has been a key part of our attack from the beginning of the season. His pacy runs coupled with his penchant for creating and scoring goals has really transformed Liverpool into a lethal attacking unit. Mane’s partnership with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino has also been remarkable, to say the least.

Considering the intensity with which the trio has played day in and day out, it is not surprising to see Mane go down with an injury. After all, he is human and the exhaustion was bound to seep in at some point.

That said, Mane’s injury comes at an unfortunate time since Jurgen Klopp is already without the likes of Joel Matip, Joe Gomez, Emre Can and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Klopp has confirmed that Mane is facing a fresh injury concern, as reported by Liverpool Echo and let’s hope he recovers in time.
