Klopp does a U-turn as Liverpool plan to snub world-class stopper due to high price tag

Liverpool could be looking to back out of any deal to sign AS Roma keeper Alisson and stick with Loris Karius for the 2018/19 season, according to The Telegraph.

The report suggests that even though Alisson is still the prime target for the Liverpool boss, the price point for the 25-year-old would mean that Karius would be allowed to work on his game next season.

The German keeper made a couple of major blunders in the 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final and the keeper was inconsolable after the defeat as he went time and again apologised to the fans and the players. There were also reports of the player suffering a concussion during the game.

However, the rising price of Alisson and Roma looking to gain the maximum for their Brazilian could play a major role in Klopp giving not only Karius but Danny Ward a chance too.

The report further states that Ward, who was the third choice for us last season, would be given a chance to push for a first-team spot once he returns to pre-season training.

However, Klopp does have a history of waiting to get the players he wants. Van Dijk was bought in the winter transfer window even though we had pulled out of the deal for him in the summer. Let’s hope he does the same to ensure we get Alisson for the right price in the coming months.
