Newly promoted side are keen to sign Liverpool’s World Cup youngster – Reds are ready to give green light

Premier League new boys Cardiff are looking to re-sign Marko Grujic on another loan deal for the upcoming season. The BBC reports that the Welsh side want the Liverpool youngster, who spent the second half of last season on loan, as they look forward to the Premier League season.

Liverpool are thought to be open to letting Grujic spending another season on loan at Cardiff, however, any decision can only be taken once the player returns from the World Cup. Grujic’s Serbia were knocked out from the group stages after a 2-0 loss at the hands of Brazil in their final encounter.

The 22-year-old didn’t play any of the games in the World Cup but it was his fantastic form in the second half of the season that saw him seal a place in Serbia’s squad for Russia.

The Serbian played 13 games in the Championship last season and even bagged a goal for the club.

Grujic was signed for £5.1m in 2016 from Red Star Belgrade and was Jurgen Klopp’s first signing as Liverpool manager.

The deal does make sense for all parties involved as Grujic would want to play more first-team football and that would not happen at Liverpool given the number of midfielders we have at the club.

Playing at a club where he spent some time last season would certainly make him feel at home and he can test his ability regularly in the Premier League next season.

A good season with Cardiff could open the door for a permanent return to Anfield too, so next season will be crucial for Grujic’s growth at Liverpool.
