Liverpool’s plans for Divock Origi and three other attackers to be decided soon [Liverpool Echo]

Divock Origi will get a chance to prove himself and build his Liverpool career in pre-season, according to James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo.

The Belgian striker was loaned out to Bundesliga club Wolfsburg last season but only scored 7 goals in 36 games for the side.

Origi did have to play under three different managers and was often pushed out wide last season and that is a situation Liverpool have kept in mind as they prepare for pre-season.

The former Lille striker wasn’t selected for the World Cup by Belgium and will have a chance to display his ability to Jurgen Klopp during the pre-season games as Roberto Firmino will be on leave.

Klopp will assess how the 23-year-old performs before deciding if the striker is a part of his plans for the upcoming season.

The same applies to the other young strikers Harry Wilson

, Dominic Solanke
and Ben Woodburn. The plan is to keep all the strikers for the upcoming friendlies and then decide which player should stay at the club next season.

Last season, we did see Origi being shunted out to Wolfsburg while Solanke was kept at Anfield for the entire season.

With Danny Ings also being linked with a move away from Anfield, this could be the opportunity Origi has been looking for after not living up to the expectations.

The Belgian could provide cover to Roberto Firmino next season but that can only take place if he can bag a few goals in the upcoming games and assure Klopp of quality performances throughout the season.
