Liverpool re-enter race to sign top Brazilian and are willing to spend £57m – report

Liverpool are back in the race to sign AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson, according to Leggo (h/t Express). The Reds were linked with a move for the Brazilian keeper after that Champions League performance from Loris Karius but it seemed that Jurgen Klopp was not willing to splash a crazy amount of money for a goalkeeper in the summer window.

Klopp was going to let Danny Ward and Karius battle it out for the No.1 spot at Liverpool but it seems the German manager has changed his mind after the performance by Karius in pre-season.

The report claims that we are going to bid £57m for the 25-year-old Alisson, a figure that would be greater than what Chelsea or Real Madrid are willing to spend for the keeper.

The amount that Roma are looking for is actually £66m, as the report claims that Roma’s director of football Monchi would only allow Alisson to leave for that sum in the summer window.

The Serie A club want to bring more cash in as they are looking to sign a number of players such as Alphonse Areola and Federico Chiesa, to name a few.

Alisson would be a great option for us between the sticks but his asking price has always been the problem. Roma would want as much as they can for their star keeper but we should not be looking to overspend at all.

If there is anything missing in the Liverpool team, it is a quality goalkeeper and if we can seal a deal for the Brazilian, we might just be ready for a real Premier League title challenge.
