“He will not leave today, of course not!” – Jurgen Klopp confirms this player isn’t leaving in pre-match press conference

Jurgen Klopp’s press conference before the Leicester City clash did have one major talking point and that was regarding Simon Mignolet.

The Belgian has become our No.2  after Alisson’s arrival and Loris Karius’ loan move to Besiktas. However, any hopes of Mignolet leaving for regular football were dashed as Klopp

confirmed he would be staying at Liverpool.

The German was quoted by the Mirror as saying:

“He will not leave today, of course not. In general, discussing your individual problems in public doesn’t make too much sense, it’s better you speak to each other. But it was still okay. He’s a human being.”

The Foxes won’t be an easy team to face but there is some good news for us as Jamie Vardy is missing through suspension.

Klopp had his say on the England striker but claimed Leicester have other players who can be dangerous.

“Jamie causes each teams problem with his style of play. That makes him different to nearly all other strikers in PL. Him not playing will change Leicester style of play slightly but they have good strikers.”

The manager spoke about the players we signed this summer, adding that we won’t be starting with the same team regularly.

“Starting three times in a row with same line-up, that won’t happen too many times this season. We didn’t strengthen for August, but for all the other months.”

The German had words of praise for Alisson as he stated that the Brazilian was a “good” goalkeeper but hasn’t been tested enough.

Klopp spoke about Mohamed Salah and the Egyptian FA dealing with their problems without him intervening and praised Joe Gomez for his performances this season.

The Reds must aim to make it four wins out of four in the Premier League but Klopp added that we would be going in for a fight at King Power Stadium.
