Liverpool’s hopes of selling Lazar Markovic in this transfer window were dashed as the Serbian could not agree to personal terms with Anderlecht, according to James Pearce.
Couldn’t agree personal terms.

Markovic was set to join the Belgian side for a fee of £2.9m and the player had even travelled to the country, as per Pearce.
The 24-year-old failed to show his ability during his spell at Anfield and a report from Liverpool Echo claims that the Serb could leave on a free at the end of the season.
Markovic served loan stints at Anderlecht, Hull City and even Sporting Lisbon during his time at Liverpool but he rarely made a significant impact for the sides.
There was interest in the Serbian from PAOK Greece but Anderlecht were close to signing him and the Reds even negotiated a 50% selling fee, as per the report.
A number of Liverpool fans were upset over the latest developments and shared their opinions on Twitter.

What a waste or space, prefers to pick his nose in the stand rather than actually take a pay cut and go play some first team football. One of the worst signings in the history of the club. He will be retired from chronic sitting on the bench cramp before he is 31.

I’d rather make him pull the weeds off the Anfield pitch

Drive the team bus?

For the sake of the measly £2.9m fee and whatever it would take to ‘compensate’ him could they not just terminate his contract and be rid?

Obviously prefers the money rather than playing football

Surely he’d know the personal terms before flying there? He had no intention of leaving I bet.
