Adam Lallana to start? – Predicted Liverpool line-up to face Red Star Belgrade

Liverpool were held to a 1-1 draw against Arsenal on Saturday and shift their focus to the Champions League tie at Red Star Belgrade.

We were quality in the reverse fixture a couple of weeks ago and need to win this tie. Our final two games are tough ones against Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain, so three points would be crucial from Serbia.

This could be an opportunity for Jurgen Klopp to mix things around with his starting line-up. We face Fulham at the weekend, and keeping that in mind, here is our predicted XI for Tuesday’s clash.

Predicted Liverpool XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Alisson Becker (GK)

The Brazilian didn’t have a great game against Arsenal and will want to make up for it with a clean sheet against the Serbians.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

Alexander-Arnold was another player that didn’t perform well at the Emirates and needs a good game under his belt.

Dejan Lovren (CB)

Joe Gomez could be rested in this clash and we could see Lovren coming back into the team.

Virgil van Dijk (CB)

It is difficult seeing any defence for Liverpool without Van Dijk commanding them this season.

Alberto Moreno (LB)

Moreno didn’t play in our 1-1 draw against Arsenal and could give Andy Robertson a break.

Fabinho (CM)

Fabinho struggled a bit against the Gunners on Saturday, but he was one of our top performers when we played Red Star earlier in the season.

Georginio Wijnaldum (CM)

The Dutch midfielder was another player that seemed to be missing in our draw against the Gunners on Saturday. However, Wijnaldum should start for the Reds on Tuesday.

Adam Lallana (RAM)

The Englishman could get a start as we switch things around on Tuesday. Lallana needs more minutes under his belt and this is the perfect opportunity for that.

Roberto Firmino (CAM)

The Brazilian was poor in the 1-1 draw against the Gunners but should do much better against lesser opposition in Red Star.

Sadio Mane (LAM)

Mane hasn’t hit the heights of last season and has been inconsistent for the Reds. He needs to provide a quality performance soon for Liverpool.

Mohamed Salah (ST)

The Egyptian might be the best of our attackers but he can’t do it all alone. Salah needs to link-up well with the others and hopefully, this happens on Tuesday night.
