Jurgen Klopp has claimed that Andy Robertson can get better after another fantastic showing for Liverpool at the weekend.
The Scotland captain was incredible throughout the game, and his lung-busting run in the final minutes set up Roberto Firmino in our 3-0 win over Watford.
The Liverpool website put up an incredible statistic highlighting the stamina of the player. Out of 52 competitive fixtures we have played since December 2017, the Scot has started 43 of them.
Klopp claimed the left-back is set to grow at Anfield and said (h/t Liverpoolfc.com):
“I don’t compare seasons, to be honest, but I’ve known Robbo now for one-and-a-half years and I feel that he’s at 75 per cent – maybe less – of what he can do.
“There’s a lot of potential still. But it’s all good. He improved a lot but there is still a lot to come, he is still a young fella. There’s enough time for that.”
The manager added that there are games where the Scot isn’t involved much but claimed our full-backs have important roles in the attack and defence.
Robertson has been one of the most consistent players for us since getting his chance in the team last season.
The 24-year-old has five assists to his name this season, and there is no doubt we will see more incredible runs and crosses from the former Hull City man in the years to come.
