“I’m looking for another one like it” – Mohamed Salah opens about ambitions and more in latest interview with GQ

Mohamed Salah has the world in his hands and there is no stopping him from becoming one of the best football players ever.

The Egyptian seems to get everything right on the football pitch and recently was on the cover of GQ Middle East.

The Liverpool star spoke on a wide range of topics such as taking Egypt to the World Cup after 28 years and how he had to sacrifice a lot to start his European football journey in Switzerland.

The 26-year-old moved to Liverpool last season and has been one of the best players in the world. The magazine asked him about the Merseyside derby goal at Anfield and the Egyptian claimed that there is more to come (h/t GQ

):

“Of course that makes me feel great, and makes me want to work harder and to continue performing.

“Because after that if your standards drop, people will not accept it. It’s a great feeling, but I don’t see it as more pressure.”

Last season was brilliant for Salah as he picked up numerous awards but the forward wants to achieve more this time around:

“For me it was of course a fantastic, historic season which I’m very proud of, but I’m looking for another one like it.

“I’m not going to live off it. On the contrary it made me more excited and determined for this season.”

Salah certainly has been one of our great buys in recent years, and even if he isn’t scoring as often as he did last season, we still are on top of the Premier League.

The Reds are also in the Champions League knockout stages and the Egyptian would want to go one better than last season in this competition.
