Two former Liverpool players faced off against each other in the Carabao Cup quarter-final on Tuesday. Raheem Sterling’s Manchester City and Danny Ward’s Leicester City drew 1-1 before the game went to penalties.
The Cityzens came out on top but there was one hilarious moment when Sterling tried to chip Ward in the goal.
The ball floated above the crossbar, to the cheers of many Foxes supporters, and Ward certainly enjoyed laughing at the face of Sterling.
The former Reds have had contrasting fortunes since leaving the club. Sterling has gone from strength to strength at City, and has won several trophies while Ward has failed to displace Kasper Schmeichel in the Foxes goal.
The Welsh keeper found it hard to get games at Anfield too as we sold him off, but this one moment from the game certainly got many Liverpool fans talking.
