Dominic Solanke has joined Bournemouth from Liverpool for a fee of £17m, according to the Guardian.
The former Chelsea striker didn’t play a single minute of first-team football this season and will hope to resurrect his career at the Cherries.
The England U21 played 27 times for us last season but only six came as starts. Solanke scored on the final day of the season but things have been tougher this time around with Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge getting starts ahead of the forward.
The report adds that the fee could rise based on add-ons, and this is another brilliant deal from the club. Solanke joined us from the Blues just 18 months ago, and a fee was discussed between the clubs rather than going to a tribunal.
The youngster didn’t light up Anfield and getting £17m for the striker is an incredible move from the club.
There is no doubt that Solanke has the potential to get better and the most important thing for his development was first-team minutes.
We allowed Danny Ings to also leave in the summer for regular football and hopefully, both players have a better time leading the attack.
However, many Liverpool fans were amazed at the amount we got for selling Solanke. Some fans praised Michael Edwards for another fantastic deal while others believed we would sign someone soon.
