(Photos) Xherdan Shaqiri flies high as Liverpool stars train ahead of Crystal Palace clash

Xherdan Shaqiri and the Liverpool team

Liverpool made a winning return to Premier League action after their exit from the FA Cup by Wolves. The Reds defeated Brighton 1-0 at the Amex and next play Crystal Palace at home on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp’s men still hold a four-point lead over Manchester City but have to be wary of the threat possessed by the Eagles.

Palace beat City 3-2 at the Etihad a few weeks ago, and the Liverpool stars were in training ahead of this important tie.

Jurgen Klopp was all smiles ahead of the game, and the German needs to ensure the players are mentally ready for the run of games coming.

Mohamed Salah was the match-winner against Brighton, and the Egyptian needs to be at his best against the Eagles on Saturday.

It isn’t just Salah that has been flying high this season with Virgil van Dijk doing a brilliant job at the back. The Dutchman is possibly the best in the world, and it will be interesting to see how we line-up in defence due to several injuries.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was the latest player to be ruled out for a while, and we could see James Milner start as the right-back on Saturday.

Alisson should be a dead certainty to start on Saturday. The Brazilian racked up another clean sheet against Brighton and needs to keep Palace out from scoring too.

Roberto Firmino should be another guaranteed starter for the Reds at the weekend, and it will be interesting to see if Xherdan Shaqiri starts in our attack.

The Reds have a minor advantage this weekend as we play before Manchester City, and if we defeat Palace, the Cityzens will be under pressure to get three points from their tie.
