Fabinho at right-back? – Predicted 4-3-3 Liverpool XI to face Leicester City in the Premier League

Liverpool players celebrate a win

Liverpool return from their mid-winter break in Dubai and face Leicester City on Wednesday. The Reds come into this game on the back of a 4-3 win over Crystal Palace in the last game and should be fresh against the Foxes.

Jurgen Klopp has a few concerns regarding his defence with James Milner suspended, while Trent Alexander-Arnold recovers from a knee problem.

Virgil van Dijk hasn’t trained much after picking up an illness from the trip to Dubai, but there is some good news with Dejan Lovren back in training.

Leicester have been a bit of a bogey side for Liverpool in recent years and cannot be taken lightly for this tie. The Reds have to grab a win since Manchester City have lost to Newcastle, leaving us with a chance to go 7 points clear at the top.

Predicted Liverpool XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Alisson (GK)

The Brazilian wasn’t great in our win over Palace and could have done better to keep some of the shots out. However, he still is one of the best in the world.

Fabinho (RB)

The midfielder should play as our right-back, with Milner being suspended. The Brazilian did well as a centre-back but this is a different test for him.

Virgil van Dijk in training

Virgil van Dijk (CB)

Van Dijk should keep his spot in the team unless the illness is too severe. Lovren could replace the Dutchman, but we need Van Dijk to play at the back.

Joel Matip (CB)

Matip didn’t have a great game against Palace, but he is the best option for Liverpool after Joe Gomez.

Andy Robertson (LB)

The most consistent left-back in the division, Robertson will be one of the keys for the Reds as we look to keep our winning streak going.

Georginio Wijnaldum (CM)

Wijnaldum’s return to the side will be a huge boost and hopefully, he plays a pivotal role in beating the Foxes.

Jordan Henderson (CM)

Henderson was one of the more decent players in the win over Palace and the captain should keep his spot in the starting XI.

Naby Keita (CM)

Keita wasn’t great in the win over the Eagles and the Guinea midfielder needs to start delivering, failing which he would lose his place in the team.

Mohamed Salah (RW)

Salah scored a brace in our win over Palace and he needs to be at his best against the Foxes.

Roberto Firmino (ST)

The Brazilian should play as the striker and he should do better in this role compared to his deeper role in the 4-2-3-1 we deployed earlier.

Sadio Mane (LW)

Mane has to be more lethal in the final third as he wasted several opportunities against Crystal Palace.
