Liverpool have been flying high this season and that feeling continued after their 3-1 win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
The defeat of the Germans in their own backyard took the Reds into the last eight of the Champions League, and they lie second in the Premier League.
The Reds are just one point behind leaders Manchester City with eight games to go.
Most of the players have been fantastic on the pitch this season, and one of them is Georginio Wijnaldum.
The Dutch midfielder has chipped in with some important goals and recently spoke about his contract situation at the club.
Liverpool have secured the futures of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane
, Roberto Firmino, Joe Gomez, Andy Robertson and others, but Wijnaldum claimed there hasn’t been much discussion about his deal (h/t Liverpool Echo):“No, I did not speak with the club yet.
“That is something for the club. I will see what happens.
“I signed a five-year contract and I am still under contract. I just do my job to perform. A new contract has to come from the club.”
The Reds have missed a spark from the midfield in certain games this season, and the onus has been on Wijnaldum to do more.
The 28-year-old has scored a pair of goals for us this season in the Premier League, and he certainly has done a great job for the Reds.
