There were crazy celebrations in the 91st minute when Mohamed Salah’s header went in off Toby Alderweireld to give Liverpool a 2-1 lead against Tottenham.
Our title hopes were in tatters after Spurs equalised via Lucas Moura, and they even had some quality chances to score.
However, Hugo Lloris could not save Salah’s header and he pushed it towards Alderweireld, who saw the ball trickle into his own net.
The Liverpool players ran off to celebrate and Virgil van Dijk did something incredible.
The Dutch defender was on his way to join the huddle and he smashed a ball straight out of Anfield.
The Dutchman has been excellent for us this season and proved his quality once again in the second half.
Liverpool were looking to take the lead after Moura’s goal, and in one instant, Son Heung-min sent Moussa Sissoko clear towards the Liverpool goal.
The Frenchman had Son on one side with Van Dijk in between the pair. However, the Liverpool defender jockeyed into the perfect position to cut out the pass to the more threatening Son.
Sissoko was left to go on his own and he was put under pressure by Van Dijk in the box. The Frenchman lashed his shot high above the bar and the Reds were given a bit of a reprieve.
Moments such as this define big seasons for clubs. Although the Reds haven’ won anything yet, we are giving Manchester City a real run for the Premier League crown.
