Liverpool FC transfer news: Salah’s agent quashes rumours of Anfield exit

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah’s agent has dismissed rumours that the Egyptian has asked to leave Anfield in the summer transfer window.

Just hours before the second leg of Liverpool’s Champions League quarter-final with Porto, the reputed Spanish publication AS claimed that the fall-out between Salah and our gaffer Jurgen Klopp was so fierce that the Egypt international has demanded a move away from Anfield.

However, the 26-year-old forward’s agent Ramy Abbas Issa has taken to Twitter to pour cold water on these rumours. Issa tweeted: “Talking out of their AS again I see.”

Mohamed Salah is currently the joint-top goalscorer (19) in the Premier League alongside Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero. The Egypt international scored a worldie in the 2-0 victory over Chelsea at Anfield at the weekend and followed it up with a goal in the 4-1 trouncing of Porto at Estadio Do Dragao in the second leg of Champions League quarter-finals.

There was no question whatsoever regarding the 26-year-old’s stay at Anfield, amidst the rumours of a fall out with Klopp. Salah signed a five-year contract with our club last July after a scintillating 2017/18 season which happened to be his debut season in Merseyside.

The ex-Chelsea star may not have hit the heights of last season but he still remains a crucial cog in Klopp’s system. 23 goals and seven assists in all competitions isn’t a matter of joke and there’s every chance for him to break the 30-goal barrier for the second season running.
