“Is finished”, “Handing City the title” – Some Liverpool fans blast this Man United star after 2-0 loss against Man City

Latest Liverpool news: David de Gea blamed by some fans for Manchester United defeat

Manchester City won their most difficult game in the race for the Premier League title.

The Cityzens were up against Manchester United at Old Trafford, and started as favourites. United had lost 4-0 to Everton in the previous game and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made some surprising changes to the side.

Matteo Darmian got a start and so did Andreas Pereira. For 45 minutes, the two teams seemed evenly matched with City having the better chances in front of goal.

David de Gea had to be smart regarding some saves and it looked like the game could end up as a 0-0 draw.

Second half damage from City

Pep Guardiola’s side is probably one of the best in Premier League history and Bernardo Silva scored in the second half.

The Portuguese shot low past De Gea at his near post, and the Spaniard should have done better with the effort.

Jesse Lingard then somehow missed an open goal to equalise from a cross, and United were made to pay with Leroy Sane scoring the second.

That should have been saved by De Gea, as he got a bit of the ball, but it ended into the back of the net.

De Gea normally plays at an extremely high level but this season hasn’t been great for the Spaniard.

Many Liverpool fans were unhappy with some of the performances from the United players, and a few ripped into the Spanish keeper.
