Liverpool’s excellent Premier League campaign has seen four stars named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year.
The Reds are one point behind Manchester City with three games left in the campaign and are also in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Liverpool have one of the best defences in Europe and it should come as no surprise that Virgil van Dijk is one of the players in the PFA Team of the Year.
Big Virg is joined by Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold as the full-backs have been brilliant this season in attack and defence.
The fourth Liverpool player is Sadio Mane while Paul Pogba makes it into the XI. The other positions are taken up by Manchester City players with Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, Fernandinho, Aymeric Laporte, Ederson and Bernardo Silva finishing the XI.
Ederson is one of the best keepers in the Premier League but Alisson has had a fantastic debut season at Anfield.
The Brazilian signed from AS Roma in the summer has conceded just 20 goals from 35 Premier League games this season.
The Liverpool keeper has 18 clean sheets compared to 16 for Ederson and has also kept us in several games throughout the campaign.
The only criticism one could have of Alisson is that his distribution isn’t on the same levels as Ederson, but the Liverpool man is still better than most keepers with his feet.
Many Liverpool fans could not believe this omission and vented their frustration on Twitter.
