Latest Liverpool transfer news: Loris Karius wants to remain with Turkish side Besiktas
On-loan Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius wants to remain at Besiktas, according to Fanatik (h/t Liverpool Echo).
The German has had a mixed time in Turkey, with the Liverpool Echo adding that his manager had questioned the player’s attitude earlier in the season.
Karius also had an issue with his wages, which seems to have been resolved, according to the Liverpool Echo. The 25-year-old joined the Turkish giants on a two-year loan and seems to be doing well now.
The German hasn’t lost any of his last 10 games and the Echo adds that Karius saved a penalty in the 4-1 win over Ankaragucu.
The upturn in results has seen Besiktas move to within three points of leaders Istanbul Basaksehir.
Karius’ future still depends on Besiktas manager
The report claims that Karius wants to stay at Besiktas after joining on a two-year deal, however, his future depends on manager Senol Gunes.
The Turkish manager could be replaced at the end of the season and the new boss would decide on the future of the goalkeeper, according to the report.
It is great to see Karius returning to form after a tough Champions League final. The 25-year-old might have made a couple of errors in that tie, but was one of the best keepers in the Bundesliga before he joined the Reds.
