BBC journalist David Ornstein claims Liverpool will not spend big in the summer and are looking at a couple of signings (h/t Metro).
The Reds signed four players in the previous summer window with Alisson joining for a then world-record fee before Chelsea broke
it with the signing of Kepa Arrizabalaga.Naby Keita and Fabinho also joined for huge sums while Virgil van Dijk was signed from Southampton more than a season ago.
The report claims that the Reds will not spend more than the £13m they paid for Xherdan Shaqiri on any player in the summer.
Ornstein (h/t Metro) further claimed that Jurgen Klopp will sign a back-up left-back and a striker.
The Metro adds that Nathaniel Clyne and Alberto Moreno are set to leave the club in the summer, and the Reds need cover for Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson.
English striker Daniel Sturridge is also expected to leave once the season is over, and Klopp will move for a striker, according to the report.
The report adds that the manager doesn’t want an out-and-out striker but a versatile forward who can play across the front-line.
The Reds have seen Divock Origi’s rise in recent weeks and the Belgian has played a big role for us this season.
Another star in the making is Rhian Brewster, and the youngster should get some games for the first-team next season after recovering from a serious injury.
The report claims that Liverpool are looking to consolidate their squad and not make major additions after finishing second in the Premier League by one point.
