Latest Liverpool news: Loris Karius wants to continue playing for Besiktas

German goalkeeper Loris Karius wants to continue playing for Turkish side Besiktas after finding form in recent weeks.

The 25-year-old joined on a two-year loan deal but the Liverpool Echo reports his future looked uncertain after he was criticised by the Senol Gunes and even asked FIFA to resolve a dispute over his wages.

However, those problems seem to have been resolved and the Turks have one game left in the season as they lie third in the table.

Karius was speaking after a 2-1 defeat to Trabzonspor and claimed he wanted to continue with the Turkish giants (h/t Liverpool Echo

“I think that if all parties are happy and satisfied, I will continue (here),” Karius said. “My contract with Besiktas continues.”

Karius finding his feet again

Karius did not have the greatest Champions League final last season as he made a couple of errors in our defeat.

The German then saw his No.1 spot taken over by Alisson, but it is good to see him back to his best for another club.

The 25-year-old could join Besiktas permanently at the end of his two-year spell as the club have to pay £7.25million if certain criteria are met (h/t Liverpool Echo).

The Turks had already paid £2.25million to secure his services and Liverpool also have a 20% sell on clause should Karius join (h/t Liverpool Echo).

The German was one of the best young keepers in the Bundesliga before moving to Liverpool.

Karius still has time on his side and could become a great keeper, and it will be interesting to see how things shape up for the former Mainz star.
