Liverpool have the chance to win a sixth Champions League crown and all that stands in their way is Premier League rival Tottenham. Both teams pulled off incredible comebacks in their semi-final second legs to reach the final in Madrid.
Liverpool overturned a 3-0 deficit in the first leg against Barcelona while Tottenham scored three goals in 45 second-half minutes to dump out Ajax.
The pair was given three weeks to train and prepare for this game, given that the Premier League campaign ended a while back. Liverpool had a couple of injury concerns, with Roberto Firmino and Naby Keita carrying knocks. The Brazilian has been declared fit by manager Jurgen Klopp while Keita misses out on the squad altogether.
Klopp doesn’t have a great record with Liverpool when it comes to cup finals, having lost all three. However, the German should be confident ahead of the clash. Liverpool beat Tottenham twice in the Premier League this season, and hopefully, we can win when it counts the most.
Alisson was the best goalkeeper in the Premier League as he conceded the least number of goals, and his presence between the sticks will make it tougher for Spurs to score.
The right-back has been in excellent form for the Reds this season, and his deliveries will be one of the keys to us winning the Champions League.
Possibly the best defender in the world, Van Dijk needs to keep things calm at the back as we look to win the title.
The Cameroon defender has been one of the stars for us in the second half of the season and should keep his place in the team.
Robertson has been another star for us and will be a threat, like Trent down the flanks.
The Brazilian has become an important part of the team since joining from Monaco and has to keep Tottenham’s attack in check by breaking up the play.
Hendo has taken his game to another level in recent months, and the captain should start for us tonight.
The Dutch midfielder scored a brace in the win over Barcelona and hopefully, he does the same against Spurs.
Mane has had a wonderful campaign so far for Liverpool and he would want to score in the final, as he did last season.
This is the only tough decision that Klopp has to make. Divock Origi scored a pair in the win over Barcelona, however, Firmino should get the nod since he has been declared fit.
The Egyptian should be charged up for the final after leaving the pitch injured last season. Salah has to be at his best as Liverpool look to win their first title under Klopp.
