Liverpool legend open to these two Tottenham stars adding an extra-dimension to the attack

Latest Liverpool transfer news: John Aldridge open to Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min joining Liverpool

Liverpool legend John Aldridge wrote for the Irish Independent and believes the Reds need to add some players to their attack.

The Reds were excellent last season and capped off the campaign by winning the Champions League.

Son Heung-min

Our attack was stretched a little with Roberto Firmino’s injury late in the season but Divock Origi scored some crucial goals for us. Aldridge believes that the Reds have to bolster the attack and a quality centre-forward could add an “extra dimension” to the side.

The former Red named a couple of Tottenham players and wondered if we could pry them from our rivals (h/t Liverpool Echo

):

“So I wonder whether Lucas Moura could be prised away from Tottenham, as he had to be a little bemused to be left out of their Champions League final starting line-up after he scored a fantastic hat-trick in the semi-final against Ajax.

“Moura is a tricky forward who could slot into the team if any of the front three were out and the same could be said of his team-mate Son Heung-min, although I would be surprised if Spurs allowed the South Korean to leave after his outstanding season.”

Aldridge backed Jurgen Klopp and his team to possibly have an ace up the sleeve and sign a quality striker in the summer.

Wilfried Zaha

The former Red threw Wilfried Zaha’s name in the mix and claimed that Klopp could take the Ivorian to another level (h/t Liverpool Echo).

Son would be a great addition to the Reds

Son is one of the best in the Premier League and can play in the wide positions or as an attacking midfielder.

Moura might have done the magic for Spurs against Ajax, however, Son is more consistent and will improve in the coming seasons.

It would be a miracle if we could steal the South Korean from Tottenham, but we should be in the market for a striker after seeing Daniel Sturridge leave in the summer.
