The Telegraph reports that Everton are interested in Lille winger Nicolas Pepe.
The Ivorian had a wonderful Ligue 1 campaign with Les Dogues and scored 22 goals in the competition.
Pepe finished second in the scoring charts behind Kylian Mbappe, and the report
claims that the Ivorian could cost £58.5m. Pepe also helped Lille finish second in the league and the club will feature in the Champions League next season. It is to be seen if Everton are willing to bid that high for the Ivorian, and the report claims that Pepe has been linked with a move to Liverpool. The Telegraph adds that Lille’s president, Gerard Lopez, claimed there was interest from the Reds, however, Liverpool have denied any such rumours.
The report claims that Marco Silva wants a left-footed player and Pepe is the only player that they want. Pepe would make Everton stronger should he join them, and it will be interesting to see if the Toffees are willing to splash the cash on him.
Liverpool have been busy in the transfer market too, but they haven’t made big name signings.
The Reds have already signed Sepp van den Berg, and the Telegraph has reported that Harvey Elliott is set to join from Fulham.
Liverpool could do with a versatile attacker as cover for Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah and we’ll have to wait to see as to who we sign this summer.
