The Daily Mail reports that Crystal Palace have held further talks regarding a move for Liverpool’s Nathaniel Clyne.
The 28-year-old joined the Reds from Southampton and had established himself as one of the best right-backs before suffering a long-term injury.
However, he doesn’t fit into Jurgen Klopp’s plans in the first-team and doesn’t have the same output as Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The younger English defender has become one of the best in the Premier League and recorded double-digit assists last season.
The report claims that Palace are interested in signing a replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Clyne is also open to a return to Selhurst Park.
The English defender started his career at Crystal Palace and was sent on loan to Bournemouth for the second half of last season.
The 28-year-old needs to start often given he is in the prime of his career, and the Englishman is a quality defender.
He should do a good job at Palace or any other Premier League side, and it will be interesting to see if he leaves in the summer. Liverpool could do with some cover for Trent and Andy Robertson.
Alberto Moreno left the club after his contract expired, and we don’t have cover for Robbo right now.
