Former Palermo star believes ex-Liverpool youngster could become better than Eden Hazard

Latest Liverpool news: Lafferty believes Kent can become better than Hazard

Former Rangers winger Kyle Lafferty believes Ryan Kent has all the tools to become one of the best in the world.

The English winger completed a permanent move to the Scottish giants before the end of the European transfer window.

Kent and Lafferty did well at Ibrox last season under Steven Gerrard and it will be interesting to see how the former Liverpool winger develops further.

Ryan Kent at Rangers

Lafferty won’t be playing for Rangers as his deal with the club came to an end but he claimed that Kent could be better than Eden Hazard (h/t Liverpool Echo):

“After one game last season I spoke to Ryan in the showers. People were raving about Eden Hazard and his ability to know what he’s going to do before the ball comes to him.

“I said to Kenty, ‘Mate, you could be as good as him, if not better.’”

Lafferty lavishes more praise on Kent

The English winger looked decent in our pre-season games, and Lafferty added that Kent could be better than Juventus star Paulo Dybala.

Ryan Kent

The Argentine was coming through the ranks at Palermo where Lafferty spent some time, and he even compared Kent to another rising Italian star:

“Ryan’s in the top three of the best I’ve played with and I’ve had Dybala and Belotti as team-mates. I’m more than happy to say that as he provides something special.”

The former Rangers star conceded that Kent has to add more goals to his game and believed the Englishman was the “signing of the season”.

Hazard has been one of the best wingers over the past five years or so and it is a little crazy that Kent is being labelled as someone who could be better than him.

It will be interesting to see how Kent does under Gerrard this season, and if he really turns out to be the next Hazard, we might end up regretting selling the youngster.
