James Milner expected to face Sheffield after injury against MK Dons
James Milner was one of the stars in our Carabao Cup win over MK Dons in midweek.
The Englishman scored the opening goal of the game and crossed for Ki-Jana Hoever’s header in the second half.
The veteran picked up a slight problem in the win over the Dons, but Jurgen Klopp believes the 33-year-old will be ready for the clash at the weekend.
Liverpool travel to Sheffield United and need to keep their winning streak going. The Reds are 100% after their opening games of the Premier League season, and Milner could be in the side (h/t LiverpoolFC.com):
“Millie got a knock in his back against MK Dons early in the game. It looked a bit awkward after the game but it should be good.”
Milner might not start for us on Saturday after his midweek excursions, however, he could come on in the second half to help us with his experience.
Alisson close to return
Alisson has been out of action since the opening day of the season but Klopp had some great news regarding the Brazilian (h/t LiverpoolFC.com).
“Ali is not in contention for tomorrow, it looks like maybe he can train with the team maybe from Sunday on. We don’t know 100 per cent, but he’s really close.”
Adrian has done a great job and we shouldn’t push the Brazilian too hard for his return. The Spaniard was excellent in the win over Chelsea and did a stellar job against Napoli too.
