Liverpool star set for scan on injury as Klopp blasts Leicester star for dangerous tackle

Jurgen Klopp unhappy with Hamza Choudhury’s tackle on Mohamed Salah

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was unhappy with Hamza Choudhury’s tackle on Mohamed Salah in our 2-1 win over the Foxes.

The game was tied at 1-1 and Salah was racing towards the opposition box when Choudhury scythed the Egyptian down.

The referee brandished a yellow card but the Leicester man was nowhere near the ball and brought down Salah from behind.

Mohamed Salah leaves the pitch during the Leicester game

The Egyptian had to leave the game and the Liverpool Echo reports that he is expected to undergo a scan later on.

Klopp claims Choudhury should have been sent off

The manager had a go at the Leicester star after the game and claimed he should have received a red card for the challenge (h/t Liverpool Echo):

“It was just a challenge which I really don’t understand. I don’t understand how he can do it, because the ball is far away.

“The player is in full sprint, to bring him down without the ball around, for me there is only one colour card. I might be the only one who sees it like this, but it is dangerous as hell.”

Klopp added that the Foxes star is a quality player but these tackles should not be part of the game.

Jurgen Klopp

Hopefully, Salah isn’t out for a long time as we have some tough games coming up. Liverpool face Manchester United, Tottenham and Manchester City after the international break.

We also have the Champions League and Carabao Cup games in between these clashes. The Egyptian is one of the best in the world, and we need him for this tough run.
