Bundesliga boss refuses to confirm if Liverpool-linked German star’s future is with current club

Peter Bosz doesn’t guarantee Kai Havertz’s future at Bayer Leverkusen

Kai Havertz is one of the top talents in Germany and the 20-year-old is already a regular for the national side.

The attacking midfielder scored 20 goals in all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen last season and has been linked with a move (h/t Liverpool Echo).

Liverpool are one of the clubs that have been linked with the German, with Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United also targeting the youngster (h/t Liverpool Echo).

Kai Havertz

Havertz’s stock is high at the moment, with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich also keen on the German (h/t Liverpool Echo).

Leverkusen had Julian Brandt in their ranks but he left for Borussia Dortmund in the summer, and their manager isn’t sure if he can keep Havertz.

Peter Bosz told Sport Bild that although he would like to have the German in his team, Havertz’s future isn’t a certainty just like Brandt’s (h/t Liverpool Echo):

“Of course I would like to keep him, just as I would have liked to keep Julian Brandt, for example.

“Kai is only 20 and still has room for improvement. I can help him there.

“But it is like this, at the end the player himself must feel when he is ready for the next step.

“Nobody can decide that for him.”

A big summer move on the horizon?

The German would be an excellent addition for any team in the world and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Leverkusen have always been the nearly-men in the Bundesliga while Bayern win everything in sight.

Liverpool players celebrate against Chelsea

Real are one of the biggest teams in the world but there is a lot of drama in the Spanish capital.

Liverpool could do with someone of Havertz’s abilities but we have a great front three already. The German could slot into the midfield and would provide us with more firepower in the final third.
