James Maddison is one of the brightest talents in the Premier League and has done a great job under Brendan Rodgers.
The 22-year-old has two goals and two assists for Leicester in the Premier League this season and helped them to a 2-1 win over Burnley at the weekend.
Maddison has the potential to improve further under the right manager, and The Athletic’s David Ornstein claims that Liverpool are keen on the 22-year-old (h/t Liverpool Echo).
The England star is contracted with Leicester till 2023 and any move won’t take place before the summer (h/t Liverpool Echo).
The report adds that Manchester United and Tottenham are also keen on the 22-year-old, and it will be interesting to see where he could end up.
Rodgers has already seen one top English talent leave for United this summer and Harry Maguire has done alright under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Maddison would be an excellent signing under Jurgen Klopp
and could make our attack more potent. The 22-year-old would add creativity to our midfield and he doesn’t slack from defensive duties.
Of course, we play with three hard–working midfielders who put in a shift, but we need to keep our options open.
The match against United on Sunday proved that we could do with more creativity coming from other areas of the pitch.
Liverpool aren’t averse to spending big on the right targets, and it will be interesting to see what our transfer plans are in the summer.
