Lewis Cook has claimed that he is happy at Bournemouth despite being linked with a move to Liverpool.
The 22-year-old has returned to the first-team after recovering from a cruciate ligament injury in the previous campaign.
The midfielder has made five appearances for the Cherries this season and is slowly trying to get back to his best.
The Liverpool Echo
claims that Cook has been linked with the Reds and Chelsea. However, the 22-year-old told the Bournemouth Echo that he just wants to concentrate on playing for the Cherries (h/t Liverpool Echo):“I have just started playing football here. I had been out for a long time, so I am just focusing on Bournemouth at the moment.”
The midfielder added that he was happy playing football again and wasn’t thinking about links to other clubs:
“I just forget about it (the speculation) really. You’ve just got to focus on your football here and keep enjoying it. I am obviously enjoying playing football again – that’s all I am focusing on right now.”
The 22-year-old was one of the best players for the Cherries in the previous campaign, and it will be interesting to see how he does this season.
Liverpool could do with the Englishman in their ranks and he has the potential to improve further. Returning from a serious injury is never easy and let’s see if he returns to his best soon.
The Reds have several options in their midfield but Adam Lallana and James Milner are ageing and we need to think about their replacements soon.
