Liverpool tracking Carlisle youngster Jarrad Branthwaite
Liverpool are one of two top clubs keeping tabs on Jarrad Branthwaite, according to the Daily Mail.
The 17-year-old centre-back has featured regularly for the Carlisle first-team this term but the report claims that he could be sold in January.
There is a lot of interest from several Premier League clubs and the defender has played 14 times for the League Two side this season.
The English youngster is also being watched by Frank Lampard’s Chelsea (h/t Daily Mail) and it will be interesting to see what happens next with Branthwaite.
Branthwaite fits Liverpool’s recent signings
Jurgen Klopp didn’t make any big-name signings at the start of the season. Harvey Elliott and Sepp van den Berg were the two youngsters that joined us.
Adrian and Andy Lonergan were the only senior signings this season.
Branthwaite could be another quality young signing under the manager. We have seen some youngsters star in the Carabao Cup and could do with defensive cover in the second half of the season.
The 17-year-old might not be ready for Premier League games, but he needs to move to continue his growth.
Liverpool have produced quality talents under Klopp, and it will be interesting to see who we could sign in the winter window.
