Liverpool starlet Rhian Brewster looks set to join Swansea City on loan

Liverpool youngster Rhian Brewster looks set to make a loan move to Championship side Swansea City in the coming days. (h/t Daily Star)

Expected to have a breakout season, injuries have limited the youngster’s playing time and Klopp has decided to send him out on loan to get regular playing time.

Tipped for a bright future, the youngster is held in high regard at Liverpool. He was part of the Liverpool squad that won the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup in 2019.

The young striker has made 3 appearances for the Reds this season and has shown flashes of potential. With Divock Origi ahead of him in the pecking order, playtime at Liverpool will be hard to come by.

Championship side Swansea City have emerged as the favorites with Steve Cooper looking to reunite with the player who he led to World Cup glory in the Under-17 World Cup in 2017.

Brewster was the top scorer at the tournament and was also the recipient of the Bronze ball. Cooper was also Brewster’s coach at the Liverpool academy and will be familiar with the youngster’s strengths and playing style.

Swansea are currently 6th in the Championship and look likely to make the playoffs for promotion. The English second tier is highly competitive and physical which will provide a good learning curve for Brewster.

Brewster came on as a substitute in Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Everton in the FA Cup third round. Liverpool’s injury crisis had forced Klopp to hold off the youngster’s loan till after the game.
