Sadio Mane and James Milner return to Liverpool training
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been handed a timely injury boost. Sadio Mane and James Milner have returned to training as the Reds look to wrap up the title following the winter break. (h/t Liverpool Echo)
The return of this key duo will give Klopp more options to call upon as the season nears its business end. Liverpool are still alive in the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League and will need to rotate players as the games come thick and fast.
Mane missed the team’s last two matches since limping off against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux.
The versatile James Milner’s return should add cover to multiple positions. The 34-year-old veteran was injured in the 1-0 win over Everton in the FA Cup third round. The winter break has come at an opportune time as it afforded the club the time to let the duo recuperate.
The Reds have coped well in their absence winning all their games except one. The lone draw came in the FA Cup game against Shrewsbury, which ended 2-2. Thankfully, the young Liverpool side won the replay.
