“Boss”, “Best manager in the world”- Some Liverpool fans react as Klopp breaks Guardiola’s record

Twitter reacts as Jurgen Klopp wins a record fifth Manager of the month

Jurgen Klopp has had the better of his long-time rival Pep Guardiola on the field.

The pair have continued the rivalry that lit up the Bundesliga. Klopp’s Liverpool sit a massive 22 points ahead of  Guardiola’s Manchester City. The German needs just 18 points out of a  possible 39 to clinch the title.

And Klopp has now started breaking Guardiola’s off the pitch records as well. The German was voted the Premier League manager of the month for January, marking his fifth such award of the season. (h/t Liverpoolfc)Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have dropped just 2 points in 25 EPL games. The tally eclipses Guardiola’s record of the most manager of the month awards in a single season. The impressive Catalan won four in the 2017-18 season as he led City to the title with an unprecedented 100 points. (h/t Daily Mail)

The Liverpool boss saw off competition from Pep Guardiola (Manchester City), Ralph Hasenhuttl (Southampton) and Nigel Pearson (Watford) to secure the accolade for the eighth time during his Anfield reign. Only three managers have won more. Footballing legend Sir Alex Ferguson leads the list with 27 while Arsene Wenger and David Moyes won the award 15 and 10 times respectively.

It is astounding to think that Klopp has won the award in five of the six months so far. With four more months to go and his team looking hungry as ever, one wouldn’t put it past the German to better his own record.

Liverpool fans took to Twitter to express their admiration for the boss. We take a look at some of the tweets below.
