Former Tottenham ace urges Klopp to add more strength to his Liverpool squad

Former Tottenham ace urges Klopp to replace these two Liverpool stars

According to a report by Daily Express, former Tottenham Hotspur star Jamie O’Hara has urged Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to replace two first-team stars.

O’Hara is of the opinion that Liverpool need to add strength to the squad to ensure we stay ahead of title rivals Manchester City next season (h/t Daily Express). The former midfielder believes that Pep Guardiola’s team has more depth when compared to ours. And truth be told, he is not wrong.

Speaking on The Debate (h/t Daily Express), O’Hara claimed that we needed stronger players than Adam Lallana and Divock Origi to truly pose some challenge to the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

“I think Liverpool could go and dominate if they bring in three or four players who are going to be like Man City, where they’ve got the squad depth and then they can really kick on, because Klopp’s got it bang on there with everything they’re doing and the philosophy that he’s got at the club,” O’Hara said (h/t Daily Express).

“I think they can go and do that but you can’t take away from Guardiola what he’s done.”

As far as philosophy, man management and tactics are concerned, Klopp is arguably one of the best in the world right now. But we need to take what O’Hara has said with a pinch of salt.

It is true that we do not have a squad as strong as Manchester City’s. They have at least two proven individuals for every single position and hence, it comes as no surprise that they’ve managed to win the Premier League title consecutively over the last couple of seasons.

To that end, we do not have ample cover in the midfield or the defence, let alone the attack. As a matter of fact, our recent defeats at the hands of Watford in the league and Chelsea in the FA Cup only highlighted our lack of squad depth. That we’ve broken our record of fielding the youngest team twice this season speaks volumes.

The upcoming summer window will be crucial and Klopp must go at it to lure some bigger names to add depth to the squad.
