Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has delivered an outstanding message to fans following the suspension of all English football fixtures following the coronavirus pandemic spreading across the world. The German has stressed that the priority should be on one’s safety and health in these troubled times.

The Liverpool boss has been asked numerous times on his views regarding the topic. He has consistently maintained that it is a subject better left to the experts rather than a football manager such as him.

He, however, realizes the effect he has on the general public, especially the fans, as the manager of Liverpool, and has decided to voice his opinions. True to his word, he touches upon the humane side of the pandemic rather than the scientific.

Klopp has stated where the priorities lie in these troubled times

Posted on the official site, Klopp stressed on the need to protect not just oneself but the people around you. He ha stressed that at this moment, football needs to take a backseat given the seriousness of the issue at hand.

“I’ve said before that football always seems the most important of the least important things.”

He admits that neither him nor his players are keen to have matches suspended nor play in empty stadiums. But if the decision to put off games saves even a single life, it is well worth it.

Football is a matter of life and death? Far from it.

Klopp admits that the decision to suspend football shouldn’t even be up for discussion gives lives are at stake. he stressed that the virus is not discriminatory and has sent his good wishes to his rivals who have taken ill at this moment.

Jurgen Klopp has acted like a true leader

In spite of not knowing what will happen or where this will lead, Klopp stresses on the need to trust the relevant authorities to make decisions that are sound and moral.

The Liverpool manager asks the supporters to take care of themselves and never to put themselves at risk. He has also called upon them to think of the vulnerable in the society and show compassion where need be.
