Legendary Peruvian star reveals dream to work with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp

Claudio Pizarro reveals dream of working with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp

According to the German publication Weser-Kurier (h/t Mirror), veteran Peruvian striker Claudio Pizarro has revealed his dream to work with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

The 41-year-old is now in his third decade of professional football spread across teams mostly in the German Bundesliga. He is currently back at Werder Bremen for his fourth spell with the club.

A striker by trade, Pizarro has scored 281 goals and 111 assists in 692 appearances

. Having played in Germany, he would have experienced the rise of Klopp’s Dortmund. He would later become a part of the rivalry during his spell with Bayern Munich between 2012-2015.
Claudio Pizarro is a fan of Jurgen Klopp

He is among a select group of players to play under both Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho, and adding Klopp to that list would make it a collector’s item. (h/t Mirror)

“Unfortunately Jurgen Klopp is missing from the list, I have never been allowed to work with him”

Change of plans, not goals

Pizarro admits that the chances of him playing under the German is remote at best, given his age. He has not given up on his dream though, and intends to make it come true as an observer.

“I hope that I can get to know Klopp in the future and that I can also see his training sessions.”

He has described the German as an exciting person to work under. It comes as no surprise considering the attacking philosophy the German preaches his teams.

Jurgen Klopp has transformed Liverpool’s fortunes

Klopp joined Liverpool in the middle of the 2015-16 campaign. He has since changed the fortunes of our side and has guided us to both European and Club World Cup success.

With the Reds within reach of the elusive Premier League title, the German’s name will be forever etched in Liverpool folklore.

The Liverpool boss is a class act both on and off the pitch. A leader of men, he knows how to get the best out of everyone around him while remaining true to his morals as well.

Pizarro will learn a lot just by observing the charismatic German. Whatever field the Peruvian chooses to be in once he hangs up his boots, the lessons will hold him in good stead.
