Erling Braut Haaland urged to make Liverpool switch by former coach

According to 90Min (h/t Liverpool Echo), Alf Ingve Berntsen has urged Erling Braut Haaland to move to Liverpool in the future.

The Norwegian ace made his name at RB Salzburg, attracting the attention of Europe’s big boys. He eventually made the move to Borussia Dortmund last January.

He has adjusted to life in Germany just fine. Having scored 12 goals and two assists in 11 games

Berntsen, who coached the youngster at Byrne FK, has admitted he would love to see the youngster play in the Premier League for the Reds.

“I’m a fan of Liverpool, so of course I would like to see him play for them.”

He has revealed that English football is by far the most popular in Norway. It has led to a number of young Norwegians dreaming of playing in the Premier League.

Haaland’s father is one who has actually done so, having turned out for Leeds United and Manchester City between 1997 to 2003.

Bernsten believes Haaland has what it takes to play for the best. Given that Liverpool are currently the European and World Champions, they have a claim as the biggest drawing power in English football today.

If Haaland does eventually make the move, he will reunite with his former Salzburg teammate Takumi Minamino. Both players shined against us in the UEFA Champions League this season.

Haaland has already scored at Anfield. Let’s hope the next time he does it will be in Liverpool colours.
