He has made himself a regular for Mechelen just before the league was suspended in March. His performances have also caught the attention of Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Dutch side Feyenoord Rotterdam

.

With clubs facing the heat due to the coronavirus shutdown, players such as Vranckx represent a viable solution. Young with the prospect of improving, he will be an excellent investment for years to come.

The youngster, who is of Congolese descent, has represented Belgium at various youth levels. He has so far made seven appearances combined for the Under-15, Under-16 and Under-19 sides.

The Belgian league is set to vote on May 15 over the question of whether to end their season due to the Coronavirus crisis. According to the report, Mechelen will almost certainly need to sell this summer.

Midfield is one area where a number of Liverpool players are set to join James Milner in the 30+ age category. Blooding youth will become a necessity in a couple of seasons. By signing Vranckx, we will be adopting a more proactive approach to ease that transition.

At just £1.5million, signing the youngster should be a risk worth taking.
