Liverpool tipped to beat Man City, Barcelona to Caglar Soyuncu signing

As reported by AS (h/t Express), Liverpool have been tipped to beat the likes of Manchester City and Barcelona to the signing of Leicester City star Caglar Soyuncu, by his former agent Mustafa Dogru.

Soyuncu has established himself as one of the top defenders in the Premier League this season. The 23-year-old Turkish centre-back has been a top performer for Leicester, helping them to third spot in the league.

Soyuncu has featured in all but one of the Foxes’ Premier League matches this term, and has chipped in with a goal and an assist.

His performances haven’t gone unnoticed, as a number of European heavyweights have taken an interest in signing him. The likes of Manchester City, Barcelona, PSG and Atletico Madrid are all monitoring the Turkish interrnational. (h/t Express)

Soyuncu’s former agent, Dogru, though, reckons that only Liverpool are the club capable of tempting him to leave Leicester at the moment. (h/t Express

“I think only Liverpool have the power to sign Caglar Soyuncu in the Premier [League] because of his economic conditions.”

Of late, a number of centre-backs have been linked to our club. Napoli superstar Kalidou Koulibaly and Real Sociedad’s Diego Llorente have been mentioned.

Soyuncu, given his proven pedigree in the Premier League and his age, would be a great addition to our side. The report goes on to state that Leicester value the 23-year-old at £45m

Dejan Lovren is facing an uncertain future at the club, with his contract expiring in a year. However, given that the likes of Ki-Jana Hoever and Sepp van den Berg are waiting in the wings, it will be interesting to see if Jurgen Klopp brings in a centre-back or backs the youngsters.
