Transfer News: Agent’s latest comments offer Liverpool big boost in Patson Daka pursuit

Speaking to Sky Sport Austria (h/t Liverpool Echo), Freddy Kanoute, who is the agent of Patson Daka, claimed that his client is ready for a ‘new challenge’ at the end of this season amid transfer links with Liverpool.

Liverpool have been linked with Daka recently after the 22-year-old’s impressive displays in O. Bundesliga. But they are not the only club after him.

The Zambian has scored 30 goals in 33 appearances in all competitions for RB Salzburg this season. And this sort of form has seen him attract the interest of clubs like Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, and the Reds. (h/t Liverpool Echo)

He has seamlessly filled the void at RB Salzburg left by Erling Haaland when the Norwegian moved to Borussia Dortmund in January 2020.

Daka to The Reds?

And in his latest comments, Kanoute dropped a major hint about Daka’s future, claiming that it’s time for the striker to seek new pastures. He joined the Austrian side from Zambian club, Kafue Celtic, around 4 years back.

“I think it’s time for a new challenge at the end of the season. He really got started this season. He is developing almost daily.”

The Reds could be in the transfer market come summer. And attack is one area when any addition would bolster our chances for success next season.

Top-4 has become the aim this season for the club and a disappointing goal return from everyone but Mohamed Salah is one of the reasons why the Reds failed to defend their title this year.
