Adam Lewis is struggling to make an impact at Liverpool.
As confirmed by the club’s official website, Liverpool starlet Adam Lewis has completed a season-long loan switch to Scottish club Livingston FC for the 2021/22 campaign.
A product of the Liverpool youth academy, Lewis has been on the club’s books since 2006 having joined as a six-year-old. The youngster has progressed through the ranks, going on to make 42 appearances for the Reds Under-18s and 35 more for the Under-23s. (h/t Transfermarkt
)The 21-year-old left-back made his first-team debut for Liverpool in a FA Cup tie last year, which remains his sole senior appearance to date. Lewis spent the first half of the 2020/21 campaign out on loan at French club Amiens, managing just nine appearances.
Having returned to Anfield in January, he was sent out to League One outfit Plymouth Argyle where he saw regular game time. In 20 appearances for the third-division outfit, Lewis scored one goal and set up two more
for his teammates.Back at Liverpool this summer, the 21-year-old has sealed another temporary exit, this time moving to Scotland to sign for Livingston FC.
Upon signing for David Martindale’s side, which finished sixth in the Scottish Premiership last season, Lewis claimed that it was a great opportunity for him to prove himself while gaining experience.
“I think this is a massive opportunity for me to go show myself in the Scottish Prem. It’s a massive league… and it’s a big opportunity for me to get games under my belt and show everyone what I can do.”
Lewis signed a new contract with Liverpool in 2019, which runs till the summer of 2023. The loan stint should serve the youngster well in the long run as he will get regular playing time at the senior level.
