Transfer News: Liverpool to go after Donyell Malen as Sancho alternative
According to transfer news from Mirror, Liverpool are planning to go after Donyell Malen as an alternative to Jadon Sancho. Along with the Reds, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan are also keeping tabs on the Dutch striker.
Apart from Salah and Jota, no other Liverpool forward enjoyed the last season in front of goal. The likes of Mane and Firmino struggled as Liverpool fell behind in the midseason. Hence, it was no surprise to see the club trying to make attacking additions like Jadon Sancho.
However, Sancho is very likely to head to Manchester United and that could put Liverpool in a position to look at alternatives. One of the names they are looking at is Donyell Malen of PSV. Malen is currently involved in the Euros with the Netherlands.
The 22-year-old Dutch striker was first brought to England by Arsenal when they signed him from Ajax’s youth academy in 2015. That didn’t work out, and the Gunners offloaded him back to the Netherlands in the summer of 2017. They would be regretting letting the youngster go to PSV Eindhoven as he has been a hit there ever since.
