Transfer News: FC Porto eyeing Liverpool winger Harry Wilson
According to reliable journalist Duncan Castles, as quoted by HITC (h/t Liverpool Echo), FC Porto are showing interest in signing Liverpool winger, Harry Wilson.
It seems that Porto and the Reds can potentially be in touch a few times this summer. Earlier this week, O Jogo via Sport Witness (h/t Liverpool Echo), as covered by TheKopTimes, reported that the Liga NOS side made signing Marko Grujic a ‘priority’.
Meanwhile, a report by Daily Mirror (h/t Sky Sports) and covered by TheKopTimes, mentions Otavio’s agent green-lighting a move for the Porto playmaker to Liverpool. While Grujic spent the last season on loan in Porto, Wilson was at Cardiff.
If there is a good offer the Welshman, there is no reason why the Reds should decline it. At 24, he does not look like breaking into the first team as of now with Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota, and Mohamed Salah all ahead of him in the pecking order.
Wilson to be sold?
Even Xherdan Shaqiri was kept at the club last season ahead of Wilson, which shows the Swiss playmaker is preferred by Jurgen Klopp over Wilson.
Any funds that the club generates from Wilson’s sale can then be utilized in the transfer market towards potential incomings. But only time will tell if Liverpool sell Wilson and go on to strengthen their frontline this summer.
Fans would feel that a midfielder should be on top of Liverpool’s wishlist in the summer. Georginio Wijnaldum’s departure to PSG has left Klopp without one of his most dependable midfielders next season.

A number of names have been linked with the club, including that of Florian Neuhaus and Yves Bissouma (h/t Express). But it remains to be seen if Klopp’s solution to this predicament is promoting someone from within the squad, or signing a new player in the centre of the park.
