Transfer News: Wolves and Napoli after Liverpool star Divock Origi
According to transfer news from ECHO, Wolves and Napoli are said to be after Liverpool outcast Divock Origi. However, Liverpool will only sell the player if they receive an adequate offer of £20m. Some clubs have deemed that as too high but a loan also remains an option.
Divock Origi perhaps holds an iconic cult status at Liverpool. Not the most prolific of options but his two goals against Barcelona in the Champions League in 2019 gave the club one of their best comebacks. It was he who tapped in Trent Alexander-Arnold’s corner and set Liverpool on their way to their sixth Champions League title.
However, it has not been plain sailing for the big Belgian for most of his time at Liverpool. The Reds have a highly cohesive front three with the likes of Diogo Jota as a backup. That has seen Origi’s game time reduce in the last few seasons. He featured in a paltry 17 games last term.
Hence, it is not surprising to see him linked with an exit. There has been interest from the Premier League with Wolves and from Serie A as well with Napoli. However, Liverpool will only sanction a sale if the £20m asking price is met.

With Liverpool boasting of an impressive frontline, it makes sense that they would want to offload Origi. After all, he is 26 and should be playing more regularly than he is at Liverpool. With interest in the player from sides such and Wolves and Napoli, Liverpool would be remiss to let it pass.
